What we do
Our approach recognizes that local people know what is best for them and are better placed to provide on-going support to their communities.
The Trust supports projects initiated and managed by local NGOs, maximizing community input and participation.
At the same time, the Trust works to strengthen the capacity of these NGOs to effectively carry out their important work. By doing this, the projects are more likely to bolster self-determination and sustainable economic security for all participants.
The approach and philosophy of the Trust were influenced by APHEDA, an Australian NGO working closely with the people in both Aceh and East Timor.
The Trust is not associated with any religious or political group.
